“I get to work with a variety of talented, creative people on a daily basis and I get paid to do what I love. No single work day is ever the same as the last.” That’s how Amy B. Tronolone describes her position as senior photographer at American Eagle Outfitters. Amy, who in 2007 earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Photography from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, now spends her days photographing products on models and tabletop, primarily for the Aerie and 77 Kids brands.
She also maintains daily shoot lists for stylists and junior photographers while auditing all photography for quality and consistency for American Eagle’s three brands. Amy’s work was standout during her student years as well. She won the Best of Show and Employers Choice Awards in September 2007. At American Eagle, her talents allowed her to move from working as a freelance photographer to the level of senior photographer in just three years.
Amy believes that the career preparation she received at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh helped her transition to a real-world career. “The (classes) presented the opportunity to work together as a team of people; much like a real-world work environment. Also, the professors are an amazing group of people with varying backgrounds and are willing to go beyond the classroom in order to provide beneficial information and experiences for their students.”
